Beyond the veil
A serene winged soul peering out from behind a veil of ivy on the tombstone of William Tait in Longside Kirkyard. The elegantly carved inscription which is in Latin states that William Tait who was a cartwright in Lunduquharn died in' the year of human salvation' 1725. One his descendents was Archibald Campbell Tait- the first Scot to become Archbishop of Canterbury.
