The Deben River

We walked into Woodbridge for breakfast at The Whistlestop Cafe, in what used to be the station building. We felt lucky because we got the last table that wasn't booked and then watched a stream of potential customers get turned away.
Kathryn and Julian were away to their final rehearsal, this time with the orchestra.
After brunch we moved on to the charity shops to see what books they have that we feel we must go home to Sweden with.
I enjoyed looking at all the breads available at the outdoor bakery stall (extra). So many sorts of sourdough, even some 100% rye flour loaves made with no yeast and sourdough, something I have never succeeded in baking well. We bought a giant almond croissant to share.
Went home for a cup of tea and a warm up, before heading down to the river for some misty atmospheric stuff, which is where the main blip comes from.
The dark shapes on the left of the picture are most of Woodbridge, the harbour and tide mill. The slight shadow in the mist on the right is the far bank, near Sutton Hoo.
It's easy to imagine a Viking boat appearing out of the mist on a day like this. However, in reality, any self-respecting Viking would be beached and waiting for better visiblity on a day like this.
We walked on to the Tidemill, one of Woodbridge's iconic buildings. (extra)
In the evening we went to the musical K & J had been working on. The whole production was really good, and as usual they were both excellent. It was lovely to finally see them in action with the music that is such an important part of their lives. It isn't so often our trips to the UK coincide with the productions they take part in.
