Hanbury Hall
Pete went back to South Wales this morning and Andrew had an early start leaving Worcester at 6:30 to get to the office in Oxford prior to being driven to Heathrow for the plane to Dusseldorf.
After seeing Pete off we drove over to Hanbury Hall, the National Trust property near Droitwich. The journey was a bit fraught with roads closed right left and centre due to recent flooding. We finally arrived after a few detours. My friend, who we'd arranged to meet there, was browsing books in the bookshop set up in Rose Cottage.
Ann went off for a walk, John and I retreated to the cafe where we had lunch and a good chat. After a while we were joined by Ann, now returned, for coffee and more chat. By now the rain was fairly heavy. I took this pic through the cafe window towards the old stables and entry archway for horses and carriages, presumably, in the "old days".
Once the rain eased off we walked round to the front of the house and went in to have a look. The place is decked out with Christmas trees and decorations and the whole place has been given a 1970/1980s theme. They even had Del Boy playing on an old TV. All very impressive. I've put a photo of the tree in the entrance hall in the extras.
