The 'Island' of Arnside

Last night's sharp frost was displaced this morning by a warm front and so there was a lot of mist around.  Our house was shrouded in fog but as I climbed up onto the Hampsfell Ridge behind us I walked into sunshine.  The mist cleared quite rapidly but looking across the estuary you can see that the village of Arnside remained foggy for a little longer and the Knott appeared to form an island.
