A quiet evening in Bridge of Allan

Our small Victorian spa town has a rich history  and at  its centre is the 
Provost Park with its Christmas tree. 
Originally a piece of waste land It was officially opened in 1885 as a recreational space for the local community and named after the provost (mayor) of Bridge of Allan, Provost James Gowan. 
 
But over the years it became neglected fell into some disrepair. Then the local community council undertook its renovations and in 2014 the official opening of the revamped park took place.
 
Today it is a major asset and is widely used both by residents and visitor.s
