The Boss & Buffalo Bill

Well the Springsteen Gig at Hampden was a big success. Well over 3 hours and 30 songs. The 45,000 crowd were well satisfied. I believe it was impossible to get a hotel room within a 10 mile radius of the city so it was a great event for Glasgow.

Today I happened to be passing this statue which commemorates another big gig in the City when Buffalo Bill brought his great Wild West show to Dennistoun in 1891. The support act was a young lady called Annie Oakley.

The show went down a storm - there are a lot of cowboys in Glasgow! Its not reported whether Buffalo Bill included Born To Run or Dancing in the Dark in his Encore but I'm sure the crowds loved it anyway!
