Rite of Passage

A BIG day in the Black household - the twins achieved their A-Diploma in swimming. It's been a long time coming , two and a half years to be exact. The Dutch take this very seriously and it's a whole family event with mums, dads, siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins all turning up to applaud the swimmer's achievements. So I found myself rather lonely on the side of the pool cheering my boys on but the important thing is they now can swim independently in a Dutch pool and not have to wear compulsory arm bands. And we now have a Wednesday afternoon free from swimming lessons, hooray!
