Food Bank
The weather... started off quite bright but turned out dull and murky....but we were too busy to pay much attention. We did a food shop, and in the afternoon we visited my cousin in the Nursing Home. We had a nice chat with her, which of course she won't remember as she has dementia, but she seemed to enjoy it..... and was most pleased with her favourite wine gums which we took along. We persuaded her to keep her Christmas gift wrapped until the big day, but don't know if she will adhere to that when we left. Still, no matter, she is happy enough, although I have to remind her who I am when I arrive!
Cali and Karen popped in for a short time when we got home..... and were able to help with a little task we couldn't manage on our own as it required balancing up a ladder.
It is to the utter shame of our governments and to ourselves that people in this town and indeed in this country in some cases have to rely on food banks to feed their families. I am not talking about people who won't work, a lot of them are in paid work but can't make ends meet on what they get. And this is a First World country!
