Ring in the New

The precocious Crocus sublimis that got a mention yesterday.  First of the spring crocuses to flower this winter, in the wild where it grows in the mountains of Greece, Macedonia, S. Albania and S. Bulgaria, it will flower when the snow melts .... in Spring!  Lots more species are nosing through.  I'd rather that the weather turned cold and stayed that way until mid February when the days are longer and lighter.  The flowers often flop when they appear in the darkest months.

An early start, a Dr's appointment for Jamie first thing.  After popping home to get a casserole into the slow cooker, we were off to Dolgellau for a midday appointment.   Back home a little before dark, I wrote a few Christmas cards and made it to the post in the nick of time.   A snooze then tea, which was meals on wheels to Jamie's and shared with Tilda who is here for a weekend of railway volunteering.  Back home to a few chores before I head to pottery where I want to use pouring glaze to do the insides of the latest batch of pots.  They can come home after as I will be using some of my own glazes on the outsides .... but not tonight.  I'll be spreading that pleasure out, free time is limited for a while now but if the opportunity arises they'll be here :-)
