Behind the bench

Warm this morning, a few thunder plumps this afternoon. The bench is about half way along the coastal part of our local coastal walk. I waited for someone to come along and use the bench to give a scale factor, not many folk going about early on. Self timer ? No, maybe old timer.

I once found a well-wrapped book on this bench. It was placed there by a 'mystery donor' - part of an informal scheme to encourage folk to exchange books. It was called 'The Virtues of April' - by Rory D McPherson. It started off in 1920s Paris and dealt with attempts to encourage the French working class to utilise public transport more frequently. Part II examined attempts to establish a narrow gauge railway in Tasmania. It was gripping stuff. I've yet to finish it.
