"Sink or Swim!"

Today was Moira's eighth swimming lesson in our pool. We have had a fantastic swim instructor come to our house once a week teaching Moira.

The first month was painful hearing Moira scream and cry. She did not want to work, but wanted to play in the pool. It was the same with my kids when they were young. About the 5th lesson, Moira stopped screaming and started to listen and her brian was engaged. She is really doing remarkably well. (As a grandmother I say that, but the instructor did too!) Moira is jumping in and turning to get the wall, swimming after balls to retrieve them, and wall walking.

I feel very blessed that I have found this instructor as she has been giving private lessons for 20 years and is wonderful with children. Nothing replaces constant supervision when you have children and a pool even when they know how to swim. Living in Florida surrounded by water everywhere, it is essential to learn how to swim at an early age. Moira is now having fun with her lessons ....a big relief to me!
