Mourão Christmas Market

Not quite Frankfurt, but our market today was certainly in festive mode.

Four little shacks outside - one was selling nothing but cakes that supposedly tasted just like Ferrero Rocher. A few more local sellers inside - I bought some red earrings and some macramé angels, all handmade. And honey and cheese and broccoli and garlic from Maria's stall. She and Zé have invited us to their family Christmas, as Cecílio and Ermelinda have decided to go north with their son and partner. So kind.

Speaking of Frankfurt, have at last booked a ticket for our organisation's leadership conference near there in February. Feels a bit strange to travel without Mike, but at least I won't be on my own; two other guys are going from Lisbon.

Gratefuls:
- our support group this morning, and Deb and Ju popping in from Manchester
- walking out in the crisp sunshine
- the hilarity of the inappropriateness of the music blaring out at the market: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, in English - not a wish that is likely to be granted!
