Red Mouthed
A quick trip up to our caravan today to take a few things and to check things out. We had a brief sojourn to Arnside, then called in at our favourite nursery and garden centre before returning home. A real flying visit.
I took this shot whilst we were having our lunch overlooking the Kent estuary - the highest tide I’ve seen here. The only birds were black headed gulls. They are fine birds when you look at them closely, and feisty. This one was reacting to other gulls getting too close to its perch.
Our caravan is 60 miles from home, and today was experiencing very different weather. Down here, blue skies and sunshine. Up there heavy grey cloud and no sun at all. Driving up, the divide between the weather systems was a sharp one, it felt like crossing a line. Fascinating.
