Skye Day 5 - The wheels and the rain

Yesterday we decided to leave today instead of tomorrow, to avoid any problems that could arise due to the expected amount of rain in the area. There actually is an amber weather alert in force tomorrow and we want to minimize the risk of getting stuck on our way to Inverness, so we booked hotel rooms in Inverness and left our cottage on Skye today. The image shows the car we have been driving and hopefully you can also see the near horizontal rain that we’ve been having since yesterday. Not sure; it’s hard to see on my iPhone.

It has been raining constantly since last afternoon and during our drive back there was already quite a bit of water on the road in some areas, but not so much that it caused issues. We arrived at our hotel around three ‘o clock in the afternoon.

Ton showed us some image processing techniques he frequently applies to his images, with some eyeopeners for me so that was much appreciated. We had dinner at Pizza Hut, which was a first for me. Time to try some of the techniques on my own images and then off to sleep. Tomorrow we’ll fly back to Schiphol.
