Formula One!

To mark the British Grand Prix a few of us escaped the hot afternoon sunshine and chose to sweat it out in an even hotter shed, to whizz around one of Almaty's Go-Karting tracks. Loads of fun!

So, It's been an intermittent couple of weeks on Blip, but I think I've caught up now. It all started when I got back from Kyrgyzstan to find my internet connection had been cut off. I was off line for about 10 days, by which time I was going to Uzbekistan and it was a bit crazy in between - what with a hectic week in work, leading up to the Football - a tough life when you have to escort the England team through the airport formalities...! Anyway - I also had problems loading some photos up and tonight is the first chance I've had to try again. Did I mention that Frank Lampard gave me a kiss?
The last week or so has been spent doing various bits and bobs in preparation for my move - I have less than a week left here, so lots to do before I leave. I am so excited about it all that it's taking away the sadness that normally comes with leaving a posting, not to mention the end of my long-term job. I've been thinking about my 2.25yrs of floating a lot this last week or so and despite some very grey and dull and lifeless days earlier in the year, I think, (I would need to analyse it some more) that Almaty is going to be featuring in my top 3!
