Ascot Races

I had photos that showed more of the racing the crowds and the atmosphere, but Nathan should feature, as he really made the day for me. He came along after school to keep me company when my original plans fell through. He wore a jacket and tie without protest, and found some battered old school shoes to wear with his smart trousers. And white socks.

For the final race, he picked the photo-finish winner Annecdote out of a line-up of 24 horses in the last race. Would I like a £50 pound note to round up the £49 won against the £5 bet? Yes I would! Nathan's insight into horse racing form was to pick number 21.

It turned out to be a good day after all.
