Hope.

This Sunday in Advent is about Love but the feeling was all about Hope.

We had a different take on the nativity story which was fun.

Then we had a sermon from a Church of Scotland minister who normally preaches in Tiberias. The stories of the suffering of so many in that part of the world were tragic. The Christian community there is small but they all hope and pray that in time some reconciliation can be achieved to bring peace and stability there.

The rift as depicted on the screen shows what has to be overcome.

The afternoon saw the completion of the cards for posting, They went in the post box on the way to a carol concert in a nearby church where one of our friends was singing in a group.

It was a lovely event and generated a period of Christmas spirit. Sadly far removed from the experiences of those suffering from the effects of war, persecution and violence across the world. That put my anxiety about getting the cards away into perspective!

We rounded off the evening with the latest instalment of Vigil. We could binge watch but it is gripping stuff and we feel we can manage only one episode a night.
