Red-breasted goose at Martin Mere
The staff at Martin Mere said they had counted all the birds in their collection, and this injured non-native bird was not one of theirs, but it may have escaped from another private collection elsewhere. The goose had flown in and was hanging about with the wild ducks and graylag geese. Although it could swim and fly, it was limping quite badly. Other than that, it was feeding and seemed okay.
It was a dark, miserable day and it never stopped raining all morning.
