The daisies seem to be taking over. This is them in the evening, stating to close-up for the night. During the day, some areas almost all merged in to continuous white!
Turned on the radio this afternoon, and caught the last question to the Gardeners' Question Time panel (BBC Radio 4). The recording was made in Penicuik, and a lady asked the panel something along the lines of:
"In the evening, my husband goes out in the garden to smoke a cigar, and often urinates on the lawn. This has resulted in the grass growing lush, and long. However, a patch of weeds has died. Can the panel tell me what is the magic ingredient he's eating or drinking, and should I be bottling this for sale?"
Predictably, there was much hilarity with the panel and audience. The likelihood given was that grasses benefit from extra Nitrogen, whereas the weeds in their lawn don't like it (though, some weeds may well like it). Also, the grass cuttings will be good for the compost heap, as they'll already contain a well known compost activator!
Those daisies may be in for a shock, well, when the neighbours aren't looking...
