Littoral

Mixed Murmuration

A flock of birds, mostly crows, but there's some starlings and perhaps rooks in there too, flying over a field of stubble.  They congregate in the field at dusk - in this case just before 3 pm - and occasionally swirl up in clouds.
A busy-ish day of phone calls, visiting a neighbour, getting out for a walk, and doing a grocery shop.
I haven't done a proper shop for nearly a month, apart from getting some milk a few weeks ago.  I had totally not foreseen that a visit to a Christmas-laden Tesco full of busy, cheerful, and unaccustomed shoppers would bring on weepiness.  But it was everywhere - memories of past shops for things DH wanted in hospital, things I used to buy for him that I wouldn't have to any more.  Kept it together, but there were a few episodes of deep breathing.
