The Madonna and Child

This blip is the statue of the Madonna and Child by Sir Henry Moore, which was commissioned by a former Vicar, the Revd Walter Hussey. This statue was created for St Matthew's Parish Church of England, Kettering Road, Northampton, as a 50th Anniversary present in 1943. This very generous gift was given by Walter's father, the Revd Canon Rowden Hussey, the first vicar of this grand Parish Church.

Went we went to church as part of our conference here in Northampton. It was a selected group, who were admirers of art, sculpture, and architecture.
