A Moment in the Sun

We went out for a walk, using our "sparks", kick-sledges, at lunchtime. Down to "our" lake and up the other side to this pair of houses, and beyond.
Although it was only 12:40  the sun was just going down behind a distance hill (extra) and we decided to sit here a few minutes and soak up a little sunlight before the sun disappeared. Actually, when we continued, the sun was still shining through the forest because we no longer had that hilltop between us and the sun! About a kilometer beyond this photo spot the narrowing road (extra) comes to an end, at least in winter because the snow isn't cleared any further.
We were determined to enjoy the sun, because the next few days are probably going to be cloudy and snowing.
When we next see the sun we'll be past Midwinter and the days will be lengthening.
Once home Jan went into action baking mince pies and similar. I went out and cleared snow off the shed roof and the veranda roof, in preparation for the coming snowfalls.
