Back from Brisbane
Light rain was falling in Brisbane this morning, as we walked from our Southbank hotel to the historic South Brisbane Railway Station. As I took a quick photo Rana said ‘I hope you can do better than that for Blipfoto today’. I said something like, ‘this is just for insurance, in case the weather gets worse and nothing better comes along’.
From South Brisbane we took the Gold Coast train to the southern terminus of the line. We’d left our car there yesterday. It’s a one hour drive home from there. Rather than take the shortest route home on the motorway (shortest but slowest, due to road works and traffic congestion), we diverted to the coast for coffee at Burleigh Heads and the extra view of Gold Coast high rise. I’m distressed that these high rise buildings have been built so close to the ocean, but accept that they have a kind of awful attractiveness from a distance.
