yellow - and bright...

covering the hillside - totally unexpected - as i crested the top of the ridge - i mean - i knew the cactus were there - however, i didn't know they were going to be blooming - in this riot of yellow color - under the hot, blue sky...

but looksee - they are golden and lovely - with more buds to open - some appearing like lush pineapple - arms outstretched - open, ready and willing to give a hug - welcoming in their embrace - although don't do as i did and get too close - they are prickly, cactus are and i ended up with some sticking in my open tootsies - no matter - they were a sight to see - bright and brilliant - and i had to share the variety of blossoms to enrich your experience - making it...
