Disposition

No photo today. This is a screenshot from an interview with the creator of For All Mankind. I am really enjoying the show. Alternate histories are a fascinating concept to me because they open us up to the process of imagining alternative futures.
The question he was asked was related to clim change. I wish I shared his optimistic disposition. I often despair about the way I feel trapped participating in systems that are designed to work against our shared interests. That being said it is nice to know some people can hold a different perspective… I hope that they are right.
I think achieving a better future will require a mass movement of people with a vision of a different way. The articulation of that vision is likely a task for optimists, keeping them honest will be a task for the pessimists.
