Gunnera

I went to the Everett Arboretum this afternoon to take a few pics and saw this HUGE plant. One of the master gardeners walked by, so I snagged her and asked her what it was. She informed me it is a Gunnera -otherwise known as a dinosaur plant. Which seeing it in person, I couldn't get over how big it is!! It reminds me of a giant Rhubarb plant.

I could totally see a dinosaur munching down on this baby!! I looked it up and it says the leaves get about 5 feet across and the stalks get around 6 feet. They grow around 9 feet tall. Gunnera Manicata

We got a decent amount of rain today, and the sun actually came out this afternoon!! I am always happy when I get to see the sunshine!
