Blenheim at Christmas

Rob and I had the most fabulous day out at Blenheim today. This afternoon we did Sleeping Beauty at the Palace. Having toured the Palace during the summer when our friends visited it was amazing to walk the same route but to see every room decorated from top to toe telling the story of Sleeping Beauty. Really magical.
Then we had three hours before we did the light trail so we went into Woodstock and had a wander and a meal out. Back to the Palace for 7.30, we enjoyed seeing the old fashioned fairground rides, then watched awestruck at the projections on the front of the Palace. These were done to music and were mesmeric. The light trail was a mile and a half and included the formal gardens and the wooded area down to the lake and the waterfall. Each section had an amazing light show, different music and some had food and drink stalls too. It was creative and even emotional in places. Absolutely wonderful night out, I highly recommend it.
