Coded Message

I glanced on the table and noticed that so many items were in code. Bar codes and QR codes are just a few of the excellent methods of carrying data in a simple format, but which machines can read at high speed. For now, some of them still carry a series of letters or numbers that we can enter into a computer in case the 'code' becomes illegible. Maybe we'll eventually recognise our favourite bar codes.

Meanwhile, I'm holding a soft toy zebra wondering why it's got a price label with a bar code on it.
