Panforte Suzette

Like a lot of my friends I decided on handmade edible Christmas presents this year. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances (the car) I didn't make enough to go round everybody.

There's just enough left for elevenses.

This dense little slice of cake is based on Panforte Margherita from Siena. I've called it Suzette because I've put my own particular spin on it. After a week in the fridge to mature I think it actually tasted better than the original. You can taste all the individual ingredients.

I will make it again next year, with enough for everybody :-)
