Late bloomers

Yesterday I trimmed back the peonies. That came with a blaze of color and perfume. As I trimmed I noticed some buds that were late so I stacked them in a pile and later brought them in to fill several vases. This is what greeted me this morning. Gotta love those late bloomers!
