What's in a name?

I love this word.... manilla.....vanilla. It sounds exotic so being a bit of a word nerd I looked it up.

Manilla. Metal bracelet used by African tribes as a medium for exchange.

With Bristols past and wealth inextricably linked to the slave trade, it's no surprise to find this road name on a street in Clifton.

So exotic
perhaps beautiful

With a hint of melancholy.
