Birmingham Christmas Market

As seen after we went to a showing of The Snowman and The Wrong Trousers with a live orchestral accompaniment.  A Christmas treat Ruth planned for me as I am a big W & G fan.  Unfortunately we were quite late after an incident just down the line from Bournville caused the cancellation of our train into the city .... and all the others for a couple of hours.  Rubbish timing as the previous train ran to time.  Once it became obvious to us that this was more than a minor delay we were the first to leave the now crowded platform.  Thanks to Ruth's familiarity with Uber, a cab pulled up outside her place just as we came out having swapped her power chair for the manual one.  Traffic in the city centre was almost gridlocked but we made it in time to see the robbery and the brilliant climax to The Wrong Trousers, imho the best of their adventures.

Earlier I'd walked Jamie to the station, thankfully he linked up with Clara at New Street and headed off home for Christmas in Wales. Ruth and I will be travelling south on Christmas Day to link up with my family but have a special meal planned here for tomorrow too :-)   Definitely feeling Christmassy now!
