so this is Christmas (Eve)
The great thing about Christmas here is that it only lasts two days - today and tomorrow. Apologies to traditionalists - but we have had the TV ads for two months.
It’s midday and behind this Christmas tree is a pool where Anniemay is ploughing up and down. She has the pool to herself. There seem to be fewer people here this year than there were last year.
It’s a strange place to spend Christmas. The sun comes up around 7.30am and sets around 6.30pm. So there are 11 hours of daylight.
Between 11.00am and 4.00pm it’s Scorchio and you sit in a cool bar wondering how long you can make a cheese and ham toastie last.
You’re left with a couple of hours in the early part of the morning to do beach stuff - yoga, swim, surf, build sand castles. See extras.
You have another couple of hours in the late afternoon to play before getting ready to head out in search of a bar/restaurant for an evening meal. And there are plenty to choose from.
You’ll need a torch because it’s pitch black along the roads. We’re spoilt for choice - bar owners call out “Dan’s family is always welcome here.”
As I say - a strange place to spend Christmas.
Apart from seeing Dan and Varnika the best Christmas present we could have is Blip. I wish everyone in blip-world a happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.
