Silent Weinheim

We slept well last night. And the hotel breakfast this morning was excellent, so things are looking up.

After breakfast daughter#2 and SIL#2 collected us and drove us into Weinheim for a mooch. Christmas Eve is the main event over here so it was strange that it was so quiet everywhere. But of course it is Sunday too so all the shops are closed. Crikey, even Burger King was shut up.

Just a lonely busker playing Silent Night on his violin, quite appropriate for silent Weinheim. I liked his juxtaposition with Big Sexy too.

A few cafés were open so we managed to get a snack lunch (crêpes of various varieties). We didn't want to have too much as we have a big Christmas Eve dinner to look forward to later with our daughter's new in-laws.

There was one shop open - Jacques wine shop where the last two remaining bottles of glühwein were purchased. Daughter & SIL posed for me outside (extra).
