What do you do in the Lakes at Christmas?  Answer - go for a walk! We headed off alongside Derwentwater down and through Great Wood following a path up to Castlerigg Stone Circle.  We thought we would have lunch there as we would be the only people around given the weather was so bad. A strong squally rain shower and crowds of folk who had driven up to see the stones put paid to that plan so we skulled off . down the hill topic up  the path between Threlkeld and Keswick  where we sheltered in an old railway hut for lunch. After lunch our plan was to head up Latrigg before heading back.  but the continuing squally weather and strong wind scuppered that plan so we headed home. Now back in the warm and drying out ready for our Christmas dinner this evening.  Happy Christmas one and all.
