Feliz Navidad

We are not long back home after a fabulous day of listening to traditional Christmas music, singing and dancing with all the villagers, as well as those from neighbouring villages who love to join in. Everyone gathers in front of the little Hermitage Church (Ermita de la Jeva) and the image of the Virgin Mary is brought out to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Traditional costumes are worn as well as others denoting band affiliation. In the extra the women wear their beautifully colourful outfits.

The local baker provides biscuits and a tot of warming aguardiente (definitely alcoholic). It was merry, people had a happy family outing and the sun was shining.
