Mary and Joseph
Or, Maria and Zé, who have the main stall at our small Saturday market, and who kindly insisted we join them and their daughter, Rita, for their Christmas dinner, which was late last night (so another bit of a cheat). The room was only slightly bigger than the table, but the food and the hospitality was generous - as I say to her, it´s impossible to outgive Maria.
We drove home slowly in fairly thick fog, which has continued unabated all day. Went for a walk at Luz. Made marzipan tonight for the cake I bought at the English bazaar, which was about the only Christmassy bit of the day.
Gratefuls:
- for peace and warmth and full bellies
- for all three kids checking in with us, and a lovely chat with my sister in Florida
- after five Christmasses apart from family, looking forward to one all together next year, God willing
