Derby Day Delight
Not quite a full lie in this morning, as the cough kicked in.
A quiet morning reading. I've now read 161 books for the year. I reckon I could probably get about two more in before the end of the year.
In the afternoon it was off to the Gnoll, to watch Neath play Aberavon. The return of the Boxing Day Derby after many years of not being around because of our relegation, but now we're back in the top league it was good to see it back.
We've been struggling since promoted, we've not won a league game all year, so hopes going into the derby were a little bit mixed. And when Aberavon scored a try early on, I thought we were in for a long day. But we slowly worked our way back into the game and run two cracking tries before half time, to take a 24-7 lead. Surely we couldn't blow this in the second half? Thankfully we didn't, but Aberavon did come back into it and we finished with a 24-19 win and our first win of the year. Hurrah!
The ground was rocking and I've never seen the shed looking that full in a good few years.
Another chicken dinner for tea, most of it has gone now. We might just eeekkk out a small sandwich. Lol!
Today I am thankful for:
1. A chilled day
2. A Neath win over close rivals Aberavon
