The weather is going to be dreadful today & I will be sleeping through most of it so wednesdays blip was taken yesterday on my commute home that went the long way in & around Stockport.

Local band 'The Blossoms' named themselves after this unusually titled & am sure pretty well looked after old pub on the junction of Buxton Road (A6) & Bramhall Lane. The band members all used to work a little further down the A6 at The Alma Lodge Hotel, but as I'm sure everybody will agree, that isn't such a catchy name for an indie band.

Am ashamed to say I couldn't name one of their tunes if my life depended on it but they are still around several albums after their debut and Google seems to say that they are well regarded.

Wikipedia doesn't describe their embryonic stages as being very rebellious or rock'n'roll...the first two band members met on a school trip to a theme park - Alton Towers - an outing they were given as a reward for good attendance.
