curns' corner

Eve

The main order of the day was to collect the turkey. A bit of a strange quiet system in Waitrose though the drinks aisles but it moved faster than it appeared. While PY queued, I bought the other last minute things on the list.  We returned and had space in the fridge for the bird.

Then we went on a lovely walk for a couple of hours. We walked up to Wimbledon Common and then around Canizaro Park, both of which were lovely. It was not too cold and there was a coffee stand just by the park’s entrance where we bought a drink wander round. This was the sign on the pavement in front of the stand. It summed up the day, There were quite a few other people doing something similar. We walked back via Wimbledon town centre, another look at the ice rink - which, again, was between groups of people, and then back to Raynes Park.

More movies for Christmas. I always think Hairspray is joyous and we put it on as background but ended up totally absorbed. The first time I saw the movie it took me half the duration to realise it was John Travolta.; “Nobody memorises every page of their dead father's notebooks for the money”: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. A bit too chase-after-chase-after-chase for me. It, does however, feature the temple at Segesta,  which we saw earlier in the year and the anti-aging effects on Harrison Ford are excellent.
