We had a wander into Chippenham this morning before the wind and rain got too wild, and we went into the church. Sharon hadn't been in here since her days in the Guides carrying the flag for church parade.

We found these memorials in the wall, and this one was dated 1693/4 which had us wondering why.  Going down the Wikpedia rabbit hole we found that the year used to start at the end of March, until sometime in the 1700s, when it moved to the first of January.  So as this date was in January, both years were listed, just to add to the confusion!
