The trouble with talking...
Well, today was an interesting one! It started off in the usual way - bleary eyed from staying up too late - standing under the running water half asleep. Once downstairs I emailed in my Daz Doorstep Challenge answer (the 'name that tune' type game) on Radio WM at 5:30 in the morning. It was an easy one today - Percy Sledge's 'When a Man Loves a Woman' - and as Daz had also wanted to know if anyone had been to last night's concert, I told him I had. He came straight back asking if I minded having a chat with Pete Morgan at 8:20. I do this sort of thing occasionally so agreed.
Sure enough the phone rang at 8:25 and there I was chatting away to Pete about Rod Stewart. I was on there for what seemed like an age but I was so enthusiastic, I didn't notice until afterwards. He asked me how many times I'd been to see him and asked was I a big fan. I explained that I wasn't and nearly said I wasn't a knicker hurling fan but stopped myself as I could imagine you all staring at me after my Tesco Man escapade on Tuesday! I told how I'd only gone as I thought I might as well while he was still kicking. I told Pete how much I'd enjoyed it, favourite track from the night and how the performance, backing singers and musicians were great and also how the lighting was so good I'd taken loads of photos and would email some. I even mentioned my yesterday Blipfoto entry and explained all about it and how my daily track had been 'Rhythm of My Heart'. We talked about the footballs booted into the crowds during 'Hot Legs' and he found it hilarious I'd ducked to avoid getting hit! When I got off the phone, I emailed a few pictures. I thought no more until Shauqat from work told me one of the pictures I'd sent was on the BBC local news for Birmingham web page. What a surprise!
I've put some pictures in a Blipfolio folder - Rod Stewart so hopefully you can see them but I'm sure you'll tell me if not....
Today's photo is of a little chap watching me peel spuds earlier.
Track? It doesn't go with anything but I heard it this afternoon and really liked it - Let Her Go
