Dunki (donkey)
I went out to watch Dunki with my sister today. Dunki is a story about folks from India who aren't able to get the UK to travel to the UK through legal routes. They want to go to the UK because they have lost a lot in their lives, or they want to have a different life, or they want to provide different lives for their families in India. They are obviosuly not able to get the visa and so they take the Dunki route travelling all the way from India to London escaping borders and people each time they cross a country. A lot is lost on the way and when they reach London they don't like it and the main protragonist suggests to return when they are at hands of a judge. The judge says either to claim as a refugee or have a forced return to India.
I thought the tale was quite emotional. It made me think a lot about my own identity. Every time I land back in Delhi, I feel at home. It was a nice movie overall it made me think, laugh and cry. (Edited)
We went to GK 1 market to have my sister's favorite boba tea and wandered around the market. We returned back home and were welcome by my pissed father. We ate our tea and my sister had to give up to my demands of having something sweet, so she very kindly ordered ice cream for me. We tried 'spicy guava' ice cream from Novo (very similar to Dishoom's spicy ice cream but with guava.
And that's me for the day.
