The high winds brought down what was left of this tree. It used to be a lovely apple tree, a really old one, over 100 years old. It very gently fell down about 6 years ago narrowly missing both the greenhouse and the big shed. The part of the trunk still standing we left and one solitary branch grew and produced quite a lot of apples. Ivy grew up it and last summer it looked like a round lollipop tree. I’m not sure if it will continue to grow after this but I know that apple trees are very persistent. I hope it does. Always sad to lose a tree.
