Suffice to say we safely arrived in Edinburgh. A curate’s egg of a journey. Good in parts. Horrible in others. Wet, torrential at times, dry sometime.

Going to use the conveniences here meant you had to run the gauntlet of loads of fast food shops.

Conflicting information from the sat nav and from road signs. One sign on the A1 warned of the road being closed north of where we joined the A66, yet omitted to mention extensive delays around Ferrybridge which delayed us. A 7.5 hour journey turned into 8.35 hours of driving.
