A Taste of Home

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

We have not been very sociable this Xmas, due to a mix of Caro's bum and Shenée's covid.

It's okay. Caro and me enjoy our own company, and that of the cats.

But then Caro got a message from a woman she hasn't seen since 2010. Elaine is a friend of hers who did an HR course at the same time as Caro, back at Napier Uni.

Elaine and her husband emigrated to Auckland in 2014 and are now living their best lives, it seems.

We decided to meet for lunch and because I am thoughtful, I went to the "International Foods" section of Woolies and bought Tunnocks caramel wafers. I then wrapped them up in this lovely paper.

They were great fun! It was lovely to chat about Edinburgh again. Elaine just came back from there and said she went to Camera Obscura. "What's that turd-looking thing?" she asked and it was pointed out to her that she was looking at the St. James Hotel.

Andy used to work for Standard Life back in the day, now he's Data Intelligence Engineer (or something).

Oh my god, they are like Alternate Universe Caro and Symon!! Andy and I ordered the big breakfast and Caro and Elaine talked about human resources and how much they hate humans.

It was nice to be sociable but afterwards Caro and I retreated to our respective couches and pulled the drawbridge back up.

S.
