Lets Be Careful Out There...

Remember where that quote comes from?

Well it was said by a policeman, not this chap though. He may have said it at some point, but not over the past 3 days though.

I have been on a 3 day First Aid At Work course. Interesting, thought provoking and frightening at times.

Gary, our tutor is a former policeman and has had to use first aid in very real situations. Some sobering stories.

Your chances of survival from CPR alone is in the order of 5% a defibrillator is needed to get things going again.

Should you need to administer CPR, chances are it is most likely to be a loved one.

This is more likely to be between the hours of 10pm and 3am.

It would most likely be on the bathroom floor, or you would be getting them off the bed and onto the floor to do this properly.

Your chances of survival in Scandinavia are dramatically increased due to the requirement for first aid training as part of your driving licence, and the public availability of defibrillators.

Call 999 or 112 first, get help coming. Then get going.

I think Vinny Jones says it better than I could.

Not my best picture by any stretch but it was the 2nd of 2 frames shot with no time.
