Snake!
Little Waterloo Bay to Telegraph Saddle today.
Walked over 41km this weekend or, as J put it, 'we've walked a marathon with small children on our backs'. I'd suspect we could liken our packs to the weight of a moderate-sized child though... they were pretty heavy!
Spotted a big tiger snake on the path today. The other night, J had a dream in which we had a 10-year-old boy. He was running an educational session (!) at our house for our boy and his friends, entitled 'everything you need to know about snakes'. Strange dream. The snake we saw today was crossing the track about a metre ahead of us. All I could do was stop and say 'waaaaaaaaaaaah!'. Apparently, saying 'snake!' to warn others is in the top three of the list of J's rules of snakes. He did check to make sure 'waaaaaaaaaaaah' wasn't a word for 'snake' in another language though. And, in case you're wondering, I'm not sure what the other two rules in the top three are. Guess I'll have to wait...
Back home now. A few blisters and sore legs, but otherwise feel really good. Great to get out of town and clear the head.
It's now 33 days until the biggest exam of my life. Time to really knuckle down.
Back blipped the other days of our hike if you're interested.
