Jinney Ring (DS382)
We met up with a couple of friends at Hanbury Hall today, but managed to pick the busiest time to arrive, so away to the Jinney Ring crafts place (just along the road) in search of a coffee and cake break. That turned out to be a good decision, much quieter, and we had a chance to listen to one of the glass blowers explaining (and demonstrating) how he makes their hanging glass globe decorations.
I hadn't realised but a Jinney Ring was a very early piece of agricultural machinery where a horse (or horses?) would turn a large toothed wheel which could then be used to drive a variety of other pieces of machinery.
Generative fill has done a good job of removing a nasty No Climbing sign which sits on the far arm of the cross.
This one looks beyond economic repair so a candidate for Derelict Sunday?
Thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday.
Mono Monday themes for January are here, and I'll be hosting.
