Review!

Almost the end of 2023 and one of the suggestions by Louise Fletcher is to do a review of your past years' art work!   So i started this morning, looking thro some of my sketch books.....such an enlightening exercise.   there are a few other steps to be taken;  have a look thro all the various paintings i've made over the year, they are in the studio which is too damn cold right now, so i'll wait and put the wood stove on tomorrow.... and also on my computer, looking at all the images of paintings over the year.   this will be an interesting experience cos i very often take images of paintings as they are being created, then many of those under layers are obliterated.....might be some clues there!

It feels like a good way to get myself ready for the upcoming 4 month sabbatical that i take each year.   Been feeling kinda low in energy for the  past couple of weeks.....but looking back this seems to be part of the rhythm of my life!   The end of the year brings some peace and quiet (once all the lovely guests are gone and the party is over :P) i still am sort of surprised that it takes me a good few days to settle back into 'myself'.

Freezing rain this morning.....and rather dreich out there....a good day to be indoors reviewing.
